Finally! 0.6.0 Hotfix 7 Released

Hotfix 7 is out. This release fixes the clade diagrams lag-inducing & overlapping problems, by effectively completely remaking the damn thing using a better, more abstract system.

Full game here: http://www.speciesgame.com/download

Or if you’ve already got hotfix 6, feel free to just get the patched executable: Species 0.6.0 Hotfix 7 Patch

There’s plenty more that can be done with the clade diagram, like pruning unecessary clade legs and keeping ancestor legs closer to center, but right now I’d rather wrestle genetically-altered supercrocodiles whilst on fire and competing in a hotdog eating contest against Cthulhu than have anything further to do with recusive programming.

(Hmm… actually, that’s a bad example, ’cause that would be AWESOME)

whatever. You may decide to release news them. My students are
just beginning to read news feed from friends and relatives.

    Hi Boss,
I downloaded version 0.6.0, unzip on my old, but stable, WinXP machine, and got some “encountered a problem” kinda crash. Is Species supported over XP?

It should be, yes. Did you make sure to download the XNA 3.1 redistributable first?
