I haven’t modelled paedomorphosis or peramorphosis at all!
Crap! I’ll have to completely start over from scratch!
Okay, I am being mildly facetious there, but I hadn’t even considered the depth of the developmental model before now. It’d be nice to introduce a life-cycle a bit more advanced than the current system, which is:
Born (parent: -birthCost) => Child (-growthCost, averaged over childhoodLength) => Adult (can reproduce)
I wonder how we can improve on it…
“Don’t worry, we installed an “anti-feature creep” system for exactly this sort of situation. It drops a swarm of carnivorous tadpoles from the roof above his chair every time something like this happens. I’ll just go activate it.”
“AAAARGH OH GOD GET EM OFF GET EM OFF THEY’RE NIBBLING MY TOES ARARARARRAGH!!”
“Ah, excellent, it seems to be working. Release date is still Sunday, by the way. Cheers.”
